There seems to be some confusion regarding Soul Mates 5. Right now, most of that confusion is with me, because I’ve had several emails from people in the last couple of days, chewing me out because Soul Mates 5 didn’t come out before the end of 2008 “as I said it would”…
Um…
I never said that. If you’ve read somewhere that book 5 would be out by the end of 2008, then someone else got their facts wrong.
The only thing I’ve mentioned regarding the timeline of SM5, was that I had HOPED to have he 1st draft finished before the end of the year. But folks, I had major surgery in October and I have just now started getting back to a somewhat regular writing schedule. I am working on SM5, but not exclusively. There’s another novel on my plate, as well as a novella — that actually DOES have a deadline.
When I have a release date for Soul Mates 5, I’ll be sure to let everyone know.
Until then, give a girl a break, yeah?

I’ve just finished transferring the files from my laptop to my new desktop. Those little transfer cables are *awesome* because when I tried to transfer everything via the network? It was…slooooooow. Hooked the cables up, picked out my files and programs, and BAM… I Haz Mai Filez!
Yay!
I’ve been so Vista-resistant in the past several years, doing everything I could NOT to upgrade. However, since I’ve had so many issues with XP Pro lately, I bit the bullet and went for the total upgrade — new system, new software, new everything.
I think I like Vista so far, but there are moments that I don’t think I’m smart enough for all this new-fangled fun! And holy hell… My emails? Over 27,000 messages transferred over! I can’t tell you how thankful I am for message rules and special folders. If not for those, I’d be sorting emails for a week!
Now that all of this fun is over and done with, I’ll be back to work writing and plotting tomorrow.

Rocked.
That is all.
July seems SO far away right now. What happens in July? Well, that’s when PREY — book 4 — in Rachel Vincent’s werecat series hits the shelves. I’m dying to see the back copy, just to get a little hint of what’s to come. I mean, I know what Faythe (the main character) and her Pride is tentatively facing, but I want the nitty-gritty!
But before there can be nitty-gritty details on PREY, book 3 — PRIDE — must be released!
I just finished reading the ARC for it and I have lots of things going through my head. It was full of action, suspense, mystery, characters who grow and change… And Marc. My God, do I love that man. What he wouldn’t do for his Pride and the woman he loves. And Faythe. I love that she is still that same, stubborn kick-ass woman that she was in book 1, but I also love that she’s growing as a character, too. And Greg… If I were a werecat, I’d want him to be my Daddy. There are so many characters in this series that you just can’t help but adore (Ethan, Jace, Parker, and Vic…to name a few more), each one fleshed out so beautifully that they just come alive on the page.
Now, I don’t do book reviews (I’ll stick to writing, thank you), but I can’t not mention this book. Even a little. To say that it was awesome? Would be a huge understatement. It totally rocked my world and left me feeling so many things… Which is what any great book should do. It should make you FEEL.
So.
Start with STRAY. Then read ROGUE. And on February 1st, pick up your copy of PRIDE.
You won’t be disappointed.

Well…
My website is back up…for the most part. I still have a few pages to update here and there and I need to put the excerpts back up. But I am WAY too tired to do it tonight. I’ve only been working at this for….oh, 7 hours. I’ve managed to do widgets and install plug-ins, so I’m feeling a bit accomplished.

Known issues:
* My blog mirror isn’t working in IE, but it’s working in Firefox. Not sure what’s up with that. Haven’t decided whether I’ll fix it or not at this point. Might just make it all Word Press and have no mirror. Just do X-posts.
ETA: As of 01/23/09, I’ve booted the mirror. Posts made on my LiveJournal will be manually x-posted here.
* I know some links/banners might have gone missing. They weren’t all in the same folder (due to backups) on my hard drive, so I had to go searching for each and every one. If yours isn’t up, Please let me know. Be sure to send me your banner through either my main email (web AT jourdanlane.com) or hell, you can post them in the comments if you know how and I’ll save and upload them.

All of the important pages seem to be up and working. There are still a few excerpts and book pages that I need to add, but I’ll work on those gradually for the rest of the week. Also, there seems to be an issue with viewing the blog page in Internet Explorer. The feed works fine in Firefox, but is just blank in IE. I’ll either get that fixed or boot the mirror.
But not today.
I’ve pretty much had it with all this website stuff!
If there’s something specific you’re looking for? Check out the sidebar on the left and enter your request in the search form. The results will bring up all of the pages with that particular search term. Cool, huh?
